Publication and communication team

The goal of the publication and information team is to promote educational research. The team produces and develops publication and communication services for the institute but also nationally and internationally. For example the following national journals and publication series are part of the institute’s responsibilities:

• The Finnish Journal of Education in cooperation with the  Finnish Educational Research Association (FERA)
• Journal of University Pedagogy in cooperation with Peda-forum, a national network for the development of university pedagogy
• Together with FERA: Research in Educational Sciences publication series
• The Consortium of Higher Education Researchers in Finland (CHERIF) publications

The team also produces the institute’s books and three different publication series and is responsible for several publications of international projects, some of which are in English. Furthermore, the team markets publications and writes and sends press releases concerning the latest publications and research results for different target groups, such as decision-makers, schools, and international target groups. It also updates the institute’s webpages and encourages the researchers for active communications and publishing. Also most of the institute’s graphic and visual material is produced by the team. Finally, the team members participate in organising national as well as international seminars.

The central challenge for the team is to develop different methods and forms of communications. One of the current aims is also to develop the international communications.
