Research interests

Integration of immigrants, adult migrants’ learning processes, multiculturalism

My current research is related to learning, teaching and integration of adult migrants in Finland. I am interested in that how migrant students as well as trainers experience migrant students’ learning in Finland as well as teaching in learning settings characterized by increased diversity. The research is connected to ongoing debate on integration and role of formal education in that process. The research contributes to in-depth understanding of learning in a new setting, of teaching of individuals with migration backgrounds as well as discusses modes of working suitable for such settings.
