Mathies Charles, Academy Research Fellow

Charles Mathies is an Academy of Finland Research Fellow based at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. His research currently is focused on international student migration and mobility in Finland and Europe. Dr. Mathies sits on the editorial boards for Tertiary Education and Management journal (TEAM) and New Directions in Institutional Research (NDIR). He previously has held multiple university management positions in Europe and the United States primarily focused on strategic planning, data analytics, and institutional research. Dr. Mathies has published, taught, consulted and facilitated workshops globally on topics ranging from international student migration and mobility to higher education policy, strategic planning and institutional data management. In 2015 he was named a Global Ambassador for the Association for Institutional Research AIR Forum (https://www.airweb.org/).
